Red Hook residents have three great options for accessing clean, affordable energy.
- Rooftop solar installations are eligible for federal tax credits covering 30% of installation costs. These federal credits are part of the Inflation Reduction Act and run through 2032. Installing rooftop solar can save you money by reducing your energy bills.
- Community solar can have substantial environmental and economic benefits. Red Hook’s first community solar project supplies clean electricity to 280 homes and many of the Town’s municipal accounts. Subscribers signed up for a 10% energy bill discount that has turned out to be much greater. The Town of Red Hook is already working to identify appropriate sites for additional projects to provide an affordable and stable clean supply of energy.
- Community choice aggregation (CCA) provides clean electricity to Red Hook residents at a fixed rate. Learn more about Red Hook’s CCA.
